Annual Mass for Deceased 2022

Each November we celebrate a special Mass for those who died during the past year from Ballygall parish. This Mass will take place on Friday 11th November at 7.30pm. Those who died during October 2021 through to September 2022 will be remembered in a special way. Family members will receive an invite closer to the time. For the first time since the outbreak of COVID we will be able to welcome all family members and friends to this Mass. During the Mass each person is called by name and a family member is welcome to come forward and light a candle in their memory. Refreshments will be available afterwards.

Building Hope

Here is a document from Archbishop Farrell which summarises all parish responses to the initial parish Building Hope engagement and offers a clear sense of the direction in which we will now travel together.

Our Parish team, Parish Pastoral Council and Finance group arranged a Parish Gathering for Thursday 23rd June in the Sacred Heart Boys School to answer a series of questions under the heading of “Building Hope” as they pertain to our parish. A further question related to local parish partnerships. Using the feedback from the gathering a report was compiled and reported back to the Archdiocese and shared with the wider parish community with further discussion taking place in the Autumn and beyond.

As part of this Mass there will be a blessing of graves ceremony.  Although there was an online Mass to cover for all the graves in the Glasnevin groupings of cemeteries, there was a request for a ‘Live’ Mass during September. Other cemeteries are also hosting Cemetery Masses. Dardistown was last Sunday. Palmerstown is later on in the month.

Associate Membership of Lourdes 2022

Traditionally each year the Dublin Diocese provides support to bring over 170 sick people to Lourdes. This year there will be no sick pilgrims staying in the Accueil however some will be staying in hotels. You can help support this pilgrimage by becoming an associate member and making a voluntary offering, in the church shop. Names will be recorded and remembered in Lourdes during the diocesan pilgrimage this September.

Glasnevin & Dardistown Cemetery Mass

The Ballygall Finance Committee is a team of parish members who volunteer their time to ensure the parish continues to meet its financial obligations and represent Parishioners interests. In real terms the commitment involves approx. 2 hours a month. There now exist open positions on the Ballygall Parish Finance Committee.

Do you have an interest in volunteering your time and joining the committee? If so, please speak to either Father Joseph Ryan or Father Harry Gaynor or contact the parish office.
