The Rosary is a traditional prayer that goes back centuries to times when people were often unable to read and write. The 150 psalms of the Old Testament were often linked with the three rounds of the rosary… Joyful, Sorrowful & Glorious Mysteries. (150 Hail Marys in total).

The person(s) praying the rosary and using the 5 decades on the beads reflects on different aspects of Our Lord’s life, His birth, life, death and resurrection as well as giving homage to Mary His mother and ours. The late Pope John Paul the Second introduced “The Luminous Mysteries” shedding reflection on the miracles of Jesus.

As I kneel before You is a beautiful hymn in honour of Our Lady

The Joyful Mysteries are recited on Monday and Saturday.

The Sorrowful Mysteries are recited on Tuesday and Friday.

The Glorious Mysteries are recited on Wednesday and Sunday.

The Luminous Mysteries are recited on Thursday.

To finish off we include “Mary most Holy”. There are many other hymns and versions of the rosary that can be found online.
