This weekend sees the diocesan priest moves for 2022. Fr Richard Sheehy leaves us for Brackenstown parish, Swords with the added responsibility for the deaneries of Blanchardstown, Fingal North & Maynooth. Fr Paul Thornton comes to our area (Cabra) with responsibilities for our deanery (Fingal South West) as well as Fingal South East & Howth.
In our own Glasnevin grouping of parishes, Fr. Joseph Ryan takes over the role of Moderator with the added responsibility of Iona Road parish where Fr Paddy Jones who, although retired, continues as Team Assistant. From this weekend in Iona Rd, this will involve extra weekday and weekend masses as well as other parish duties that will evolve over the weeks and months ahead.
Fr Ciaran Dunne has been appointed curate in Glasnevin parish and we wish him well with us over the years ahead. Fr Gareth Byrne has been appointed last year as Team Assistant to the grouping and has been based mostly in Iona Rd and occasionally in Glasnevin. From time to time you may see him here in Ballygall on Sunday mornings.
