Our annual Mass for those who have died over the past 12 months (October 2016 – September 2017) took place on Friday 10th November.
During this Mass the names of our loved ones were called out and family members came forward to light a candle in their memory. After the Mass families stayed on to share a cuppa an a chat and were able to bring home their candle to be lit on other occasions throughout the year.
There is also a special ‘sacred space’ where the names are displayed throughout the month of November and this year there is also a remembrance board where photos/memorial cards are placed to remember those who have died not only over the past 12 months but often going back longer. These cards can be left in to the parish office or sacristy where they will be placed on the board by members of the parish team at a more convenient time.
