All ceremonies here in Ballygall will be broadcast online at https://ballygallparish.ie/index.php/myballygalltv/

Palm Sunday
Vigil Mass broadcast from parish website at 6.30 p.m.
It has been suggested that each home might display some greenery in their window, perhaps a branch or leaf or poster with “Palm Sunday – the First Day of Holy Week”. or something similar.
Palms will be blessed at Mass. These will be kept here for you and can be collected when we are open again (soon, DV).

Holy Week Wednesday 7.30 pm
This is the day that traditionally our Franciscan friends from Adam & Eve church would be leading us in our Lenten Penance Service. This has had to be postponed due to COVID – 19. However We will have our Holy Hour at 7.30 p.m. led by one of the priests in our Grouping.

Holy Thursday 7.30 p.m. Mass of the Lord’s Supper
As with all Holy Week ceremonies simplicity is the request from the officials in the Catholic Church. We are requested not to have the washing of feet this year. A suggestion being made is that we might have a bowl of water with us for this ceremony. We are well used to washing our hands at the moment but perhaps we might wash one another’s feet as a reminder of the call to service that Jesus calls us in tonight’s gospel text.
At the end of our Mass we will have a period of prayer similar to the “Watch & Pray” that often takes place in churches throughout the world.
On Holy Thursday morning we will have led morning prayer at 10 a.m. for those who may like to join us.
The Chrism Mass this year has been postponed to later in the year. This Mass would normally take place in the Pro Cathedral.

Good Friday
Our main ceremony takes place at 3pm. We celebrate the Lord’s passion and venerate the cross. It is suggested that we have a cross or crucifix with us for this ceremony.

The Stations of the Cross will take place at 12 noon & 7.30 p.m. and at 10 a.m. we will have morning prayer.

This is one of the most solemn days in our church and we are reminded that Good Friday is also a Day of Fast and Abstinence.

Holy Saturday
7.30 p.m. Easter Vigil
Our Easter Vigil should take place after dark with a fire lit and candles warming and lighting up our church with the congregation joining in the great ‘Easter Exultet’. However as we all know, this Easter is different. Hence the earlier time of broadcast.
The suggestion was made that each person watching with us might have a candle and will light it during the lighting of our Easter Candles here in the church.

Morning prayer will again be led at 10 a.m.
