The Liturgy Committee is made up of people who are already involved in various liturgical ministries in the Parish. The members work with the Priests in planning for all major liturgies and liturgical seasons of the year. They liaise with and support the Ministers of the Word, the Communion Ministers, the Choir, Director of Music Groups and Stewards.

Ministers of the Word

missal

At present in our parish there are 28 Ministers of the Word. We proclaim the word of God at all Masses during the week and at weekends. During our preparation for ministry, we are helped to get an understanding of the Mass and in particular the parts of the Mass for which we have a responsibility. We have regular opportunities for our Ministers to pray together and to be renewed in our ministry.  New Ministers are always needed and always welcome. Rosters

Funeral Ministry Group

funeral_ministry_groupThe members of the Funeral Ministry group are available to support the bereaved family and to help prepare the funeral liturgy for their deceased family member. They will help choose readings, prayers of the faithful for the funeral Mass and will attend the removal to the church.

Each month they organise a Months’ Mind Mass at the Saturday 6.30pm Mass for those who have died the previous month.  In November they arrange the annual Mass for all those who have died in the parish during the previous year and all the bereaved families are invited to attend this celebration.
